About this place
Kushida Shrine is a shrine in Kanzaki, Saga Prefecture. Its former shrine rank was prefectural shrine. According to the shrine's records, when Emperor Keiko (thought to have reigned in the first half of the 4th century) toured this area, he heard that misfortune was continuing and the residents were suffering, so he built this shrine and enshrined a deity to calm it. Afterwards the calamities ceased, so the place was called 'Kamusaki', and this is said to be the origin of the present place name Kanzaki.
