About this place
Kunenan is a sukiya-style residence and Japanese garden in the Niyama district of Mato, Kanzakicho, Kanzaki, Saga Prefecture. In the middle of the Meiji period, the Saga-born businessmen Itami Bun'emon and his son Itami Yataro acquired the land of Fudoin, a sub-temple of the thirty-six temples of Niyamasan Gokokuji, and the site of Jizoin, a subsidiary temple, and built a residence and garden, which was the beginning of today's 'Kunenan'.
