About this place
Rinzaiji is the name of Buddhist temples found in various places. Most of them take their names from Linji Yixuan (Rinzai Gigen), a Chinese monk of the Tang dynasty and founder of the Rinzai sect. A Rinzai-sect temple in Zhengding County, Shijiazhuang, Hebei, People's Republic of China. It is the temple where Linji Yixuan founded the Rinzai sect. For details see Rinzaiji (Hebei). A Rinzai-sect Myoshinji-branch temple in Oiwacho, Aoi Ward, Shizuoka. A temple associated with the Imagawa clan. For details see Rinzaiji (Shizuoka). A Rinzai-sect Tofukuji-branch temple in Toyohashi, Aichi. Its mountain name is Mannenzan. The family temple of the Ogasawara clan.
