Overview
An old Soto Zen temple. It was once the head temple; after a fire the head moved to Yokohama, and this site remained as the founding temple.
About this place
Sojiji Soin is a Soto-sect temple in Monzenmachi Monzen, Wajima, Ishikawa. Its mountain name is Shogakuzan. Its popular names are Nozan and Gakuzan. It was formerly Sojiji, the head temple of the Soto sect. When the head temple's functions moved to Yokohama, Kanagawa, the new site became 'Head Temple Sojiji', and Sojiji in Noto was renamed 'Sojiji Soin' and treated as a branch temple.
