Hanaoka Hachimangu is a shrine in Kudamatsu, Yamaguchi Prefecture. It is popularly known as 'Hanaoka no Hachiman-sama'. According to the shrine's records, it was founded in 709 (Wado 2) by transferring the deity from Usa Hachimangu. In 1599 (Keicho 4) it had nine shrine temples, headed by Jizoin, including Akaibo and Yorinbo. Of these, Akaibo is the only temple that survives. The Akaibo Tahoto pagoda is designated a National Important Cultural Property.
