About this place
Yamanashioka Shrine is a shrine in Shizume, Kasugaicho, Fuefuki, Yamanashi. It is identified as the Engishiki-listed 'Yamanashioka Shrine' and is a former village-level shrine (gosha). It lies on the northern edge of the Kofu Basin, on the right bank of the Byodo River, a tributary of the Fuefuki River. The shrine grounds are at the southeastern foot of Mount Daizokyoji, at the eastern foot of Mount Mimuro, a ridge extending east from the summit of Mount Daizokyoji, and the shrine faces east.
