About this place
Irago Misaki (Cape Irago) is a cape at the tip of the Atsumi Peninsula in Iragocho, Tahara, Aichi Prefecture, overlooking the Pacific Ocean (Enshunada), Ise Bay and Mikawa Bay. It is a key point for sea traffic and is known as a tourist spot. Depending on where the surrounding sea area is divided, it is the cape that forms the boundary between Ise Bay to the northwest, Mikawa Bay to the northeast and the Pacific Ocean to the south. The offshore waters are an important shipping route, and between it and Kamishima (Mie Prefecture), floating offshore to the west, lies the Irago Suido shipping lane used by vessels traveling to and from Nagoya Port and elsewhere.
