About this place
A swimming beach in Utsumi, Minamichita. Its shallow, fine-grained sandy beach curves in an arc for about 2 km and is about 80 m deep, one of the largest in the Tokai region. Chidorigahama, the main beach, was chosen as one of Japan's 100 Best Beaches and is also a famous sunset spot. The swimming season runs from July 1 to August 31, and swimming is free.
