About this place
Shimofuro Onsen is a hot spring in Shimofuro, Kazamaura, Shimokita District, Aomori Prefecture. After Oma Onsen (Oma) and Kuwabata Onsen (Kazamaura) at the northern tip of the Shimokita Peninsula, it is the third northernmost hot spring on Honshu. The spring sources fall into the Oyu system (sources: Oyu Nos. 1, 2, 4), the Shinyu system (source: Shinyu Nos. 1 to 4 mixed spring) and the Hamayu system (sources: Umibeji Nos. 1, 2), and the spring qualities differ.
