A beech-forest pond at the foot of southern Hakkoda, one of the seven ponds known as Tsuta.
About this place
Marshes known as the Seven Tsuta Ponds lie scattered around Tsuta Onsen at the foot of the southern Hakkoda mountains. A 2.9 km loop path, the Numameguri Trail, has been laid out from behind Tsuta Onsen around six ponds, and the area is a bird and wildlife protection zone where you can enjoy birdwatching. Tsuta Pond, surrounded by natural beech forest, is a 10-minute walk from Tsuta Onsen.
