A hot spring said to be over 800 years old. Called Tsugaru's inner parlour, it also grows Owani bean sprouts.
About this place
Owani Onsen is a hot spring in Owani, Minamitsugaru District, Aomori Prefecture (the former Mutsu Province). Sodium-calcium chloride-sulfate spring. Source temperature 60 to 80 degrees. The town manages the spring sources centrally. Effective for digestive diseases, injuries, neuralgia, rheumatism, anemia, skin diseases and women's ailments. The hot spring town spreads along the Hirakawa River, heading east from around the station. Owani Onsen Ski Area is also nearby, and hotels line the area near the ski area. There are nine public baths in the hot spring town.
