Sea cliffs running about ten kilometres from Choshi to Asahi, 40 to 50 metres high, pressing on the water.
About this place
Byobugaura in Choshi is a sheer cliff formed by the Shimousa Plateau being carved away by waves. The cliff runs about 10 km from Inuiwa in Choshi to Cape Gyobu in Asahi, and has been a sightseeing spot since the Edo period. At Choshi Marina Swimming Beach, next to the promenade, you can swim while looking at Byobugaura in front of you.
