A temple in Chonan, Chiba Prefecture. Said to have been founded by Dengyo Daishi Saicho on the imperial order of Emperor Kanmu, it is known as the head temple of 308 branch temples in the three provinces of Boso. There is a legend that stroking the foot of the elephant statue, Kichi-Zo-kun, enthroned in front of the main hall brings happiness, and many worshippers come to pray for good financial fortune. A prayer ceremony for winning a high lottery prize is held every month.
