Overview
A gorge in Kumakogen at the foot of Mount Ishizuchi, designated a national scenic site.
About this place
A nationally designated Place of Scenic Beauty, a gorge spreading at the foot of Mt. Ishizuchi. The river is highly transparent, and the riverbed can be seen even from the promenade. There are two trails: the main stream route has many highlights such as Goshiki Gawara, Momiji Plateau and Torigataki Falls, and the Teppo route lets you stroll along the Teppo River. There are many trees that turn red in autumn, and the area bustles with tourists in early November, the best time to see them.
