About this place
A shrine on a small hill beside the Dogo Onsen Honkan in Ehime Prefecture. It is said to have been built by order of the twelfth emperor, Emperor Keiko. It is said that when the flow of Dogo Onsen stopped due to an earthquake or other cause, a hot water prayer was held and the flow resumed, and the ritual is still carried on as an annual festival. Tajimamori no Mikoto, the ancestral deity of confectionery and citrus, is also enshrined on the grounds, and from the parking lot you can see all of the Dogo townscape.
