About this place
A seaside sea castle in Imabari. It is characterized by a five-layer, six-story castle keep and a moat drawn from seawater, and is counted among the three great sea castles of Japan and the 100 Famous Castles of Japan. When built, it was surrounded by a triple moat, and ships could enter the moat from the sea. Every day, it is illuminated from 30 minutes after sunset until 22:00.
