Overview
A path from oak woods into cedar. Partway along, a clearing holds the great fallen beech of Kokkai.
About this place
A forest in Fukushima. Starting to walk through a bright konara oak grove, it changes to cedar plantation, and over the hill you come out onto an exchange plaza where the "Great Beech of Kunizakai" lies. The giant beech, loved as a mother tree, fell from old age in spring 2013 and has been left as it is for observation. You can observe how the fallen tree decays while new light lets young trees and undergrowth grow around it.
