About this place
A cherry tree in Fukushima. Its flowering time is familiar as a sign for sowing rice seed. It once suffered a fire in the Showa 30s (late 1950s to mid-1960s), but its vigor has now recovered. It is along National Route 288, on high ground to the right up a narrow lane near Iwaizawa Elementary School.
