About this place
A disaster ruin in Namie, Fukushima, the preserved and developed school building of Namie Town Ukedo Elementary School. It was damaged by the great earthquake and tsunami of March 11, 2011 and the nuclear accident, but all 93 pupils evacuated thanks to the judgment and cooperation of the staff. As a facility to think about disaster prevention and pass it on to future generations, it has been open to the public since October 2021.
