A dam lake at 1,500 metres, 12 kilometres around, called the lake in the sky.
About this place
A reservoir with a circumference of 12 km on a highland at 1,500 m in Nakanojo. Surrounded by mountains of about 2,000 m, it is called the "lake in the sky." More than 300 kinds of alpine plants, such as nozoriki-suge (day lilies), grow on the lakeshore, and hiking is enjoyable. The best time is early to mid-July, when the nozoriki-suge bloom. The Nozori Lake Campground is nearby.
