About this place
Onioshidashien (Onioshidashi Park) is a tourist facility in Kambara, Tsumagoi, Agatsuma District, Gunma Prefecture. It is open to the public for a fee as a scenic spot formed by lava flow from the great Tenmei eruption of Mount Asama in 1783 (Tenmei 3) cooling and hardening. It is operated by Prince Hotels & Resorts. Within the park stands the Asamayama Kannondo, a branch temple of Kaneiji in Ueno, Tokyo. It was enshrined to pray for the victims of the Mount Asama eruption and was built in May 1958.
