Mount Tanigawa (谷川岳, Tanigawa-dake) is a 1,977 m (6,486 ft) mountain on the border of Gunma Prefecture and Niigata Prefecture in Japan. It is one of the 100 famous mountains in Japan.

The Minakami Mountain Guide Association provides guides in a variety of mountain areas, centered on Minakami, Gunma Prefecture, including Mt. Tanigawa, one of Japan's 100 Famous Mountains, as well as Mt. Joshu-Hotaka, Ozegahara and Mt. Shibutsu. By walking with a guide, you can not only enjoy the mountains more safely and with greater peace of mind, but also learn more deeply about the nature and appeal of the mountains of Minakami. There are also tours organized by the guide association, so if you are thinking of going hiking, please feel free to consult them.
