Overview
A 2,024-metre pass on the border of Gunma and Tochigi, ringed by high mountains.
About this place
Konsei Pass is a pass at an elevation of 2,024 m on the border between Nikko, Tochigi Prefecture, and Katashina Village, Tone District, Gunma Prefecture. It mostly refers to the area around it, but the mountain-road pass itself is called Konsei Pass. Because it is a high place surrounded by high mountains such as Mount Shirane and Mount Nantai, the pass's elevation is high, over 2,000 m. Beneath the pass, the Konsei Tunnel of National Route 120 (total length 755 m) runs through at an altitude of 1,840 m.
