About this place
Kakumanbuchi is a wetland on Mount Akagi, Fujimi-cho, Maebashi, Gunma Prefecture. Near the summit of Mount Akagi, 600 meters southeast of Onuma, it is also close to Konuma. Its elevation is 1,360 meters and its circumference is about 800 meters. It is also called Little Oze or Ko-Oze. It was a lake in ancient times, but water drained to Onuma through the Kakuman River and it became a wetland. It is sometimes explained as "once part of Onuma" (quotation) or "in ancient times one lake with Onuma" (quotation).
