Overview
A hot spring in Minakami. Its 1875 bathhouse survives, with water rising into wooden tubs.
About this place
A one-inn hidden hot spring in Joshin'etsu Kogen National Park in Gunma. The place where natural hot spring water wells up from underfoot is the bath itself. The water is a sulfate spring, said to moisturize the skin like a lotion. You can bathe in a space of wooden architecture that is a Registered Tangible Cultural Property of Japan. About 40 minutes by car from Tsukiyono IC on the Kan-etsu Expressway.
