About this place
A scenic spot praised by Rai San'yo as the Yabakei of Aki, a gorge about 4 kilometers long. Sheer cliffs tower, and along the gorge are strange rocks called the Wedded Rocks. You can view the gorge's beauty from the Meoto Iwa observation park on a sandbar in the Mukunashi River, and the best times are the fresh greenery of spring and the autumn leaves.
