Overview
A shrine in Asaminami ward, Hiroshima. Its main hall of 1828 survived the bombing 3.69 kilometres from the hypocentre.
About this place
The main hall of Nagatsuka Shrine in Nagatsuka, Asaminami Ward, Hiroshima. It was exposed to the atomic bomb on August 6, 1945 (Showa 20) at a point a little over 3 kilometers from the hypocenter, and though the blast left it in disrepair for a time, it was repaired and rebuilt in 1964. The main hall was built in 1828 (Bunsei 11).
