About this place
Kamotsuru Sake Brewing Co., Ltd. (Kamotsuru Shuzo) is a sake maker headquartered in Saijo Honmachi, Higashihiroshima, Hiroshima Prefecture. It is one of the long-established breweries of Saijo sake. Its founding is understood in two periods; as the first founding year, 1623 (Genna 9), based on the oral tradition of the Kimura family, is given. According to the Kimura family genealogy, the Kimura family's trade name was 'Kojimaya,' and this genealogy gives the first generation, Wahei Kimura, as 1771 - 1822, so the course of events from the first founding year to this first generation's birth remains unknown.
