About this place
Hokura Shrine is a shrine located on Mt. Hokura (mid-slope of Mt. Kincho) in Motoyamacho, Higashinada Ward, Kobe, Hyogo Prefecture. It is an Engishiki-listed shrine, with the former shrine rank of district shrine. It enshrines Susanoo no Mikoto, Okuninushi no Mikoto, Otoshi no Mioya no Mikoto and Shiinetsuhiko no Mikoto together. Details on its founding are unknown, but many iwakura (sacred rock) groups can be seen inside and outside the precincts, and it is thought to have been a site of ancient rites.
