About this place
A Soto Zen temple in Hakui, Ishikawa Prefecture, opened by Zen master Keizan Jokin in 1312 (Shōwa 1, a Kamakura-period era name) at the end of the Kamakura period. Having survived two disasters, in the Muromachi and Sengoku periods, it has protected many cultural properties, and has a principal image of the Shaka Triad, known as a work of the late Kamakura period by Buddhist sculptors of the In school. Zazen experience requires reservation.
