About this place
A memorial museum in Shido, Sanuki, for Hiraga Gennai, a genius of the Edo period. He was a person who showed talent in many fields, including herbalist, scholar of Dutch learning, inventor and artist, and visitors can learn through hands-on exhibits about his footprints, including the invention of the Erekiteru. His former residence (birthplace) and herb garden are nearby. Admission is 600 yen for general visitors, 500 yen for university and high school students, and 300 yen for elementary and junior high school students.
