About this place A shrine in Kotohira, Kagawa Prefecture, enshrining the god of the sea and affectionately known as Konpira-san. Stone steps continue for 785 steps from the approach entrance to the main shrine and 1,368 steps to the inner shrine, and the grounds include the Asahi-sha, a national Important Cultural Property, and the shoin. Worship is free, and visiting hours are 6:00 to 18:00.
