Overview
A speciality of Naruko Onsen: a large chestnut inside soft mochi, under a thick soy-flavoured sauce.
About this place
A sweet specialty of Naruko Onsen in Osaki, Miyagi. A simple confection with a large chestnut inside soft mochi, topped with a smooth soy-flavored bean paste. It began when a mochi shop founded at Naruko Onsen in the late Meiji period devised it as a tea snack for spa guests, and basically it must be eaten the same day.
