About this place
Tsuno Shrine is a shrine in Tsuno, Koyu District, Miyazaki Prefecture. An Engishiki-listed shrine, Ichinomiya of Hyuga Province. Its former shrine rank was Kokuhei Shosha, and it is now a Beppyo Shrine of the Association of Shinto Shrines.
Before the Meiji era it was also called 'Miyazaki-sha' and 'Miyazaki-gu.' Locally it is also called 'Ichinomiya Shrine.'
Onamuchi no Mikoto
The same as Okuninushi no Mikoto. Because he has been the protective deity of the whole Tsuno area since ancient times, Onamuchi no Mikoto is said to have been assigned as the local deity.
