About this place
A shrine at the very tip of Cape Toi in Kushima, located halfway up a sheer cliff. It is said to have been founded in 708 (Wado 1), enshrines the sea god Watatsumi no Kami, and has long been worshipped as a god of safe voyages. Around it is a natural cycad forest of about 3,000 trees, designated a national Special Natural Monument (Cape Toi Cycad Habitat).
