Overview
A museum in Saikai, gathering gramophones and records and playing them.
About this place
The Onyoku Museum (Onyoku Hakubutsukan) is a museum in Yukinoura Gotsugo, Saikai, Nagasaki Prefecture. It is a facility where you can listen using 160,000 analog records including SP records, and wax-cylinder phonographs and playback devices invented by Thomas Edison. Because you can listen to the records you want to hear as if bathing in them, it is called 'sound bathing' (onyoku). It originally opened with Eiichiro Kurihara collecting records and old phonographs in Kurashiki and renting a large storehouse of a hospital, but it was an extremely private facility.
