About this place
A church in Kishuku, Goto, Nagasaki Prefecture. The believers of Mizunoura are said to have begun with five men and their wives and children who moved from Sotome to Goto in 1797. The first church was built in 1880, and in 1938 it was rebuilt as the present wooden church, designed and built by Tetsukawa Yosuke. A white church mixing Romanesque, Gothic and Japanese architecture, on the hill there are also a statue of John Goto and the remains of a prison from the era of persecution.
