Overview
A 45-metre rock in Iki, which from the side looks like a monkey.
About this place
A symbol of Iki at the tip of the Kurosaki Peninsula in Gonoura, Iki. A strange rock made by nature, 45 m high, shaped like a giant monkey. In mythology it is said to be one of the eight pillars that the gods set up to keep Iki Island from drifting away. The sunset seen over the rock is also notable, and there are cruises to see Monkey Rock from the sea.
