About this place
A lookout built at the summit of Takenotsuji, the highest point on Iki, Nagasaki Prefecture. On clear days you can see Kyushu and Tsushima, and at night a sky full of stars spreads out. Since ancient times it was also a key point for defending the country, with beacon platforms and lookout stations set up.
