About this place
A scenic spot near the tip of the Yahata Peninsula on Iki. You can see a cliff continuing for about 1 km, and the narrow columnar rock in the sea is called Kannon-bashira, said by tradition to be one of the 8 pillars made to keep the island from drifting away. A record remains that during a drought in the early Edo period, when the onmyoji Goto Sakyo and others prayed for rain here, heavy rain fell.
