About this place
Kiyomizu no Taki (also known as 'Tamasudare no Taki') is a waterfall in Kiyomizu, Ogi-cho, Ogi, Saga Prefecture. The waterfall's water joins the Kiyomizu River, selected in 1985 (Showa 60) as one of Japan's Top 100 Famous Waters, and flows into the Gion River in the Kase River system. It lies within Tenzan Prefectural Natural Park, and in front of the 75 m drop's plunge pool stands Kiyomizu Kannon Hochiin, a sacred site for waterfall ascetic practice (takigyo).
