A national park across Yoshinogari and Kanzaki, with a reconstructed Yayoi moated settlement.
About this place
A historical park spanning Kanzaki and Yoshinogari that has developed the Yoshinogari site, the remains of a Yayoi-period moated settlement. The site is a national Special Historic Site, where more than 3,000 jar burials and a burial mound thought to be a king's tomb have been excavated. It opened in April 2001 (Heisei 13), and watchtowers, pit dwellings, raised-floor storehouses and more have been reconstructed. The park is divided into four zones: Entrance, Ancient Forest, Moated Settlement and Ancient Field.
