About this place
A morning market held daily on Asaichi-dori on the east side of Yobuko Port in Karatsu, Saga Prefecture. Said to have continued since the Taisho era, it is one of the three great morning markets of Japan, along with Wajima (Ishikawa) and Takayama (Gifu). Nearly 50 stalls line a street of about 200 m, selling fresh seafood, processed goods, vegetables and flowers. Held from 7:30 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.
