About this place
Kagamiyama is a mountain in Karatsu, Saga Prefecture. Elevation 283.56 meters (elevation of the third-class triangulation point). At its foot is Kagami Shrine (Matsuura Byogu). A mountain associated with Empress Jingu and Matsura Sayohime. Also known as Hirefuriyama. Because the summit is flat, from a distance it looks like a trapezoid, and together with Niji no Matsubara it is one of the symbols of Karatsu. From the foot of the mountain to the summit, there is a motor road and three promenades. In recent years, volunteers have also developed the Rainbow Stairs, with 1,278 steps for climbers.
