About this place
A kiln in Arita, Saga Prefecture, the birthplace of porcelain, that has been established for more than 260 years. It is known for a style that gives Old Imari patterns its own modern arrangement. Every step, from the potter's wheel to the overglaze kiln, is made by hand by specialist potters in each field. The Genemon Kiln Old Imari Museum mainly exhibits export Old Imari, and workshop tours are available on weekdays only.
