About this place
Ryugashido is a limestone cave in Tahata, Inasa-cho, Hamana Ward, Hamamatsu, Shizuoka Prefecture. It was discovered in 1981 by two cave enthusiasts with the permission of the landowner, Toda Sadao, and has been open to the public since 1983. It is on Ryugaishi-yama, 359.1 m high, on a branch of the Akaishi Mountains, and the limestone forming the cave was formed in a stratum called the Chichibu Paleozoic, created 250 million years ago. Of a total length of 1,046 m, 400 m is open to the public. About 10 minutes by car from Hamamatsu-Inasa Interchange on the Shin-Tomei Expressway
