About this place
A shrine in Susono that is the starting point of Suyamaguchi, a climbing trail of Mt. Fuji. It is said to have been founded during Yamato Takeru's eastern expedition and rebuilt in 552 by Soga no Iname. Surrounded by giant cedars more than 500 years old, heart-shaped inome motifs are hidden in the shrine buildings and lanterns. There are also shuin seals whose designs change each month.
