Overview
A waterfall on the border of Nagaizumi and Numazu, where the front of a Mount Fuji lava flow forms the step.
About this place
A waterfall on the Kise River on the border of Nagaizumi and Numazu. At the southwestern end of the Mishima lava flow that came out of Mt. Fuji about 10,000 years ago, the remaining hard lava forms a cliff about 9 m high and about 65 m wide, over which several falls pour down. It is a natural monument of Shizuoka Prefecture and a geosite of the Izu Peninsula Geopark. From the suspension bridge downstream, Ayutsubo no Kakehashi, you can see the falls and Mt. Fuji.
