Overview
A temple in Fukuroi connected with Tokugawa Ieyasu, known for its display of Hina dolls.
About this place
A Soto Zen temple in Kuno, Fukuroi, one of the three mountains of Enshu, with a history of more than 600 years. The temple name derives from the anecdote of Tokugawa Ieyasu forgiving the dozing of his childhood teacher, a priest, saying he may sleep. On grounds of about 100,000 tsubo are scattered 25 buildings and 40 viewing points, and peonies bloom in spring. You can also experience zazen, sutra copying and shojin ryori.
