About this place
A parasitic cone of Mt. Fuji in Subashiri, Oyama, Shizuoka. From the Subashiri Trail 5th Station, the walk through primeval forest takes about 20 to 25 minutes. Although it lies at an elevation of about 2,000 meters, there are few steep slopes. From the viewing spot you can look out over Lake Yamanaka and the Hakone mountains, with the summit of Mt. Fuji rising close by. The course is wrapped in primeval forest of larch and Erman's birch, and in autumn the larch turns color.
